Areas of Expertise

  • Perfectionism

We all want to avoid making mistakes and aspire to be our absolute best. At the same time, it’s human to be imperfect. Let’s figure out how to let go of the expectations that are leaving you feeling anxious and “not good enough”. Perfectionism often leads to anxiety and depression and can hold people back from reaching their full potential. Together, we will work on finding balance between work and rest, letting go of your inner critic, and becoming more comfortable with imperfection.

  • Eating Disorders

I use an “all foods fit” and Health at Every Size framework to help clients improve their relationship with food and body image. Together, we will identify and challenge unhelpful eating disorder thoughts and behaviors. My experience has included treating clients with AN, BN, BED, ARFID, and subclinical disordered eating. I work alongside your treatment team (MD, dietitian, and psychiatrist) to provide holistic care. For teens, I work closely with parents to provide education about eating disorders and managing meals at home.

  • Life Transitions

Moving from one stage of life to another can be overwhelming. Whether it’s the transition to a new school, moving away from home, getting your first job, having kids, or any other change, new beginnings can be sad, scary, and exciting all at once. These adjustments can be more difficult than expected and some people may experience imposter syndrome, feel more anxious, or notice a change in their mood. I want to help clients move through these transitions with flexibility, optimism, and bravery.

  • Anxiety

Anxiety can keep you feeling “stuck” in your own mind. Usually, anxiety is based on worries about the future or dwelling on the past. I want to help you connect with the present moment and take control of your mind. Together, we will gain awareness of your thoughts, identify your unique coping skills, and learn to manage uncertain situations. I want to help you you to feel more confident in your ability to get through the twists and turns of life.

  • Identity Exploration

I love this quote by George Eliot; “It’s never too late to be who you might have been”.

Finding one’s identity is a lifelong process. One that, I believe, is always evolving and can never be fully achieved. I want to hold space for you to explore all that you have been and all that you could be. Together, we will tap in to your deepest values, explore the hidden parts of you, and create a space for embracing the most whole version of yourself.

  • Depression

Depression can feel all consuming and heavy. I’ve been there, and I understand that allowing yourself to feel your emotions and to work through them are both important parts of the process. In therapy, we do this work and take actionable steps to improve your mood. This may include connecting with others, getting outside, engaging in hobbies, prioritizing rest, and cultivating self compassion. I want to help you build a life that feels fulfilling and is in line with your values.
